in Cutting tax
Not sure if anyone else has been in this position but I called the tax office today after receiving a letter stating that they might have duplicated records for me and I think I have black listed myself now-feel like a criminal.
I called again as I needed to have my NI no and other employer details but before I could give those answers again, i was told I have incorrectly answered the earlier answers and they could not help on the phone.
So I have posted the form that was sent to me to complete, I just wanted to speed the process up as the deadline of 31/10 seemed a little close.
Is this a standard thing, are their security measures so tight that if you call again, they record and count your previous failed security questions?

The security questions are nothing out of the ordinary and you should not be failing them. Usually just standard stuff like date of birth and address.0

No - but they're permanently under seige from data collection / debt agencies ringing them up and pretending to be you - so they're (now) extra careful. And as they only ask questions you should be fully aware of .... as previous post, you shouldn't fail their security! If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
