Put it short...
I am in a DMP (CCCS) payments on time to all accounts!
Have defaults, 2 CCJ's one nearly finished
What if anything can I do to rebuild or restore credit history??
Just dont want to be sat on my bum doing nothing for the next 6 years!

Once CCJ,s are finished you can them marked as settled on your credit file, You can also put a note on your credit file explaining the circumstances of your "bad" debt and this would be available to would be lenders. Do not pay any company who say for an upfront fee they will clear your name, They cant, all they will do is tell you what I just told you. Also experian the equifax dont have the same information about you so one may look better than the other, get copies of both, some Credit Card companies will still let you have a card even with bad debt, The interest is higher but still gives you the chance to proove yourself. for example in a couple of years when you apply for something else a good payment history with a credit card will look good for you. If you have a bank acct and operate it ok ask them for a credit card, When they refuse use your right to appeal and it will be looked at in a different way to the normal credit scoring method. Hope this helps0

Hi Keith,
Has the DMP just started recently? Basically there isn't much you can do to be honest. Just keep payments up and on time!0 -
Hi Southernscouser.
Yeah DMP started back in March this year........Debt free around 2009. :j
But looking into increasing payments, to lower and get shut, I dont want heavy debts anymore just the option If I ever need credit, e.g like new windows, or extension of my house!
