Best Bank Accounts for DMP

Hi all- I have a friend who has just contacted CCCS regarding entering a Debt Management Plan. She has been advised to open a basic bank account, and I know that the best ones (the ones more likely to accept those with advers credit) have been mentioned on here but they are buried in threads.
So I thought we would draw on peep's expertise- any ideas?
Thanks

The ones I can remember of the top of my head are :
Co-op
Nat West
Halifax
Abbey
I'm with Abbey and they have been fine a lot of people recommend Co-op though as they give you a debit card.LBM : March 2008

I'm with Natwest and its fine. You get a solo/maestro card that seems to be accepted everywhere. You can apply really easily on-line too.

I'm with Nat West got a basic current account with Online banking and a Solo card, which I haven't had any problems using.
Although I found that setting up the account to be a bit long-winded.
To setup the account I applied online, so was sent a application form to sign and send back, I then got a few letters regarding my account but they seemed to take a while for them all to be sent through, before I could setup online banking.
Received my pin number for my card and waited a few days before I got my Solo card, which I then had to send back a slip to activate the card!!!
Setup online banking but found a week later couldn't actually do any SO/transfer transactions as I couldn't setup any 'New' accounts without a card reader, which I then had to request. Don't know why as a 'New' Customer they didn't just automatically send it out to you. Took another 7-10 days to receive before I was fully up and running with the account.
In total it took about 3-4 weeks to setup. I suppose a more impatient person would have complained but I am quite happy with the service now that I am up and running.
Tips:
1. Setup in bank, probably quicker.
2. Remember to order Card reader as soon as you setup online banking.0
