Buying a watch in the USA

Hi
I am thinking of buying a watch for my daughters birthday.
She has seen a Rado watch she likes.
It’s a Rado Sintra Jubile R13 337 72 2
I have seen it on a US website
Does any one know if these web co. have good reputations and supply genuine brands?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Be careful. If you import goods from other countries you may find yourself subject to both import duty and VAT. You can, I think, import something upto a value of £145 from USA without incurring duties. Or maybe I should say that you can bring back goods to the value of £145 from the USA without having to pay VAT and duty on it. If you procure the goods from this country you may not be exempt from paying the duties if UK customs should intercept the item.

I have used Watches Planet before. I bought what would have been a £600 Gucci watch from them which ended up costing me £275. No duty was paid (although this is no guarentee) and I have had the item confirmed as Genuine (I have actually used the worldwide Warranty from Gucci to replace some links in the strap).

Excellent service and would definately use them again.

Link to the Rado watches below:

Edit: They now seem to have teamed up with Amazon.com to do the shopping/shipping side of the order, just tried to order a Tag but they won't ship it to the UK, you may be OK with the Rado but you will have to try......

I wouldn't buy a watch from the US ... for starters the time would be between 5 and 8 hours out ;)
