Alliance & Leicester - Any good deals

Our 5 year fixed rate mortgagewith Alliance & leicester is up in May of next year. Our LTV is under 50 % at the moment. I have had a look at their web page but there is nothing under 6% - Has anyone got a better deal by phoning them? I would prefer to go to another longish fixed rate deal so we know where we are.
Any help would be appreciated.

Shop around?
You're unlikely to find the best price in the first shop you go into.
Use a whole of market mortgage broker and you can be fairly sure that you've got one of the better deals out there.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks for your advice - was hoping to stay with A&L, as hubby just changed job recently, so was just wanting to switch deals - I know there are better deals out their than A&L, but was hoping to get a goodish deal with them.No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Any IFA can access a range of lenders using a 'laptop' in your home.
AL have a good service record, Unlike some.
Try and get a cashback deal for home imp etc.

have you checked your original loan docs to see what rate you go on to after the end of your fix?
we have an A&L fix, at the end of it we go onto a lifetime tracker of bbr+.99%.0 -

Well you can get deals uner 6% - but you will need to check on the fees for leaving A&L and then the setup fees for the new mortgage to see if they are worthwhile.
Alternatively you could look at rates fee free re-mortgages, which could even work in your favour, but it really depends on the mortgage amount you are looking at
