Loan? Overdraft? CC?

Hi everyone,

Any advice would be appreciated here. I have a family loan that needs to be paid back yesterday, for £4,000. My credit isn't wonderful but I do earn a fairly good wage. I don't own my own house.

My partner fell for the Yes Loans line and paid them their "admin fee" after they managed to persuade him that he had been approved for a loan, he's fuming and upset that he's been conned but that's another story.

Are there any companies left in these credit crunching times that will still give out less than perfect credit loans without charging a stupid amount on interest?

I don't own any credit cards ... I see in some threads that some people have used credit cards for loans .. could I do this or is it not worth even trying??

Any help would be lovely!

Thanks in advance,

    In a word - no.

What do you mean by less than perfect, do you have any defaults or CCJ's?

A credit card is an expensive way of borrowing the money unless you can get one with 0% for BT's and trf to your current account but this is also unlikely be be approved with a less than perfect credit record.
    :p
  • You also mentioned that he has been 'conned' by Yes. There are a few threads on here where people have been in the same position and they have managed to get the fee back
  • See the thread 'is this a con' within the loans forum.
