you'll have difficulty getting a 2 yr old cooper D cos they only came out in march 2007. better to buy a new one as the second hand minis hold their price so much they arent the best value for money. my husband sells them. i wont tell you where cos i'll be accused of touting for business! i will say that they are a great wee car though.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

oh and the reason the dealers are BMW as well as Mini is because BMW make Mini.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

and also if you get one with a TLC package you get free servicing for 5 years or 50k miles. which is pretty good. most have this even if you do get a second hand one.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

From my experiences (On my second MINI now
)
Bavarian - OK for car sales - Parts and servicing is a nightmare....
Prentice Portadown - Extremely good service both before and after buying the car, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
I've also been to the Country Garage for some parts and they were very helpful.
Cooper D is a very impressive car - I've driven the Clubman version and was very surprised how well goes for a small Diesel car. The fuel and road tax savings are a bonus!0 -
I have bought from both the Country Garage and Bavarian.
To be honest not much in it either way - whichever way you look at it - its still an expensive car.
The cooper d would need to be a heck of a lot better than the one d - you had to slip the clutch in ours to get it up the castelwellan road in clough without it stalling. Replaced it with a megane dci, which for the money was better specced and can handle small hills.0 -
JKC is a great garage.My dad bought a car there and they were really good. Get them to give you a price, can't do any harm. If its the nearest to you it also makes sense if you need the car serviced etc (for bm's they plug them up to a diagnostic computer so you will probably be best to get a franchised dealer to service it)0

A good independent can do a diagnostic check as well.
In my opinion using a BMW franchise for service is far too expensive and not really necessary. BMW labour rates can be double that of a small independent garage.
Also spending nearly £15,000 on a new Mini is not money saving0 -

yes but you can get a tlc package which i think is only a couple hundred at most and this covers you for all your servicing for 5 years/50k miles.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

The Cooper D is a much better car than the older One D - much more power and even better fuel economy.
Funny enough - we bought a Megane DCi as well from some dodgy saleswoman in Charles Hurst's..... :rotfl:Perhaps you know her?????
