Tax Code - rebate

.....I can't work this out....
Just received my payslip and my Tax code has gone from 543L to 543T
I also did not receive the £60 tax rebate..

I am an agency nurse ...been working for the company for the last 5 years and had an income of 21 000 last year.
I just rang the office to enquire and they know nothing about this rebate...say it's the first they've heard.
Is this rebate automaticly done, or does your embloyer have to do it/ know about it.
Should everbodys' taxcode automaticly change to 603L.
My husband got his rebate last week and tells me that his company was well aware of this.

You would in theory have been altered from 543L to 603L but as the suffix has changed to a T that would normally indicate HMRC involvement - they have issued the code. I would phone your tax office and ask them what tax code they currently have in place for you. If there is no reason for the T code then get back on to your employer and tell the payroll dept to have a read find out how to do their job properly :rotfl:
