My husband wants The Da Vinci Code book for christmas. I have looked and there are 2 - the first is just a normal book and then there is an illustrated book which is about £10 extra. Has anybody seen these books and is it worth the extra £10 for the illustrated one.
Thanks

i have just the regular one but kept using the dan brown website https://www.danbrown.com to look at images he was currently discussing (i.e last supper). I'm guessing this is what will be contained within the illustrated copy.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

My husband bought me the illustrated version for christmas last year. I'd already read and thoroughly enjoyed the paperback. It is excellent, loads of pictures and photos of locations etc. However, it is quite a heavy hardback, so depends when he intends reading it, it wouldn't be a book you'd want to carry around with you on the way to work for example.
I'd definitely say the illustrated version was worth the extra dosh though as it really brings it to life.0 -
Just had a quick look. Some of the photographs look spectacular, so I think I will go for the illustrated copy. Thank you jenpoptab.0

this book was excelent, i read it in 3 days and i think iwould have prefered the illistrated one because when they make a refernce to something it makes you want to see it, and its not always handy to pop on the internet to look it up, the dan brown website is great they have alsorts of riddles and stuff to solve.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

I started reading the paperback (i hate paperback books too) then someone mentioned the illustrated version ... ditched my paperback quick time and ordered the ilustrated ... beautiful big hardback book .... worth every penny I paid for it. As mentioned before, it really does bring the book to life, makes it so much more exciting too ..... youngest has now trashed my limited 1st edition illustrated HB book and i felt like crying
Also, as mentioned before too! Play.com have £5 vouchers floating around ... so you could get it even cheaper, plus, go through cashback sites for a little extra!I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0
