How Do I keep Them Up????

Options
My Xmas decorations that is! Every year I put them up and overnight they all fall down!!!!!!!!!
I live in a flat with double glazing and central heating, but so do so many other people and I never hear them complaining that their's fall down.
I have tried blu-tack, parcel tape and sellotape. Drawing pins won't go into the ceiling.
I decorated in October so don't want anything that will pull off the paint either.
I love seeing them up and wanted to do them today or tomorrow, yet I feel in dispair already at the thought of every morning finding them all over the floor :(
Any ideas please, other than superglue.

I never wanted to spoil the decorating etc so when we moved to our current home dh was overjoyed when I let him put things up. We now have picture rails around the living kitchen and lounge so hook the decs on this.

Try cleaning the paintwork before blue tacking them up. The grease can make it less sticky

I was hoping for a quick fix ..............in more ways than one. I've just dug the decs out, but feel half hearted about putting them up tomorrow :(
Its like Groundhog day every day when I wake up, most of them are on the floor, so I have to put them all up again!
It isn't to hot or cold in here, I've lived here 25yrs and this only happened after double glazing went in 4 yrs ago. So I guess its something to do with that.

you can get a product made by 3M which is AMAZING. can't remember the exact name but will look for you. they are like the old sticky fixer things, but come with hooks - and the hooks are reusable. the fixer part is clear and double sided, so you stick the hook onto it, then onto the wall. but the amazing part is that they remove without damaging the wall....a small tab of the clear fixer is left outside the hook, and when you want to take them down, you hold the tab parallel to the wall and streeeeeeeeeeettttttttcccccchhhhhh it. this deactivates all the glue, and leaves the wall in perfect condition. they even do really big ones with big hooks, for hanging picures. i think they sell them in woolies, for about 2.50 per pack - of 20 maybe -, but last year they were bogof. also, you keep the clear plastic hooks, and can buy more fixer parts.

think i have pack in my little ones room.....will go and look for the name when he wakes from his nap.

anyway, i love them. i use them at xmas, but also generally for hanging lots of stuff in my sons room, as i don't want to have to repaint every time i take a tigger hanging down etc. i even use them on ceiling for holding mobiles

ok, they are by 3M called command adhesive decorating clips.
says they hold on strongly, come off easily and leave no surface damage.

red pack, with 20 small clear clips and 24 command adhesive strips.

the instructions tell you to clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol or white spirit first. have never done this, and still worked perfectly.

These sound like just what I need. If you find out what they are called, it will save me going in and confusing yet another salesperson.
