The word diva these days conjures up images of white hotel rooms, white puppies and a million white lillies, or perhaps some tedious A-lister demanding that their assistant remove all of their green skittles, only to decide that skittles are too fattening anyway before throwing them at said slave!
Believe it or not, this wasn't always the case! Back in the 'good ol' days' we had the likes of Nina Simone, Shirley Bassey and Judy Garland - true divas!
And of course how could we forget the soft, enchanting ballads of the crooners. The 60's were dominated by charmers such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby, with their full orchestras and big bands.
