help and advice needed

I have debts of around £20.000 i have got a dmp paying £125 a month i struggle to pay this,my only income is dla and income support, my living cost are fairly high as i'm disabled, i am thinking about writing to my creditors most are dca's and requesting the cca's and then take things from there, The amount i pay it will take forever to pay of my debts, just getting fed up having no money nothing for xmas/birthdays and no money to replace household items, is it worth asking for the cca's or just getting in touch with all creditors and offer them all a token payment

hope your DMP is with CCCS or Payplan if not do contact them and change over. If it is then do contact them anyway to see if you're payingthe correct amount.

I'm in the same boat. I didn't like cccs because they took my DLA into account as income but didn't allow me care costs - according to MIND they're not allowed to do that.

CAB told me to go bankrupt, but I was struggling to get the money together for it.

National debt line told me to make token payments because as I'm on benefits and live in a council flat there's nothing they can really do to me, just write out and ask for more but as I don't have more they can't have more. This is the option I've gone with.

I was lucky enough to be able to sell my car and get a motability one, so I had a lump sum to pay off one loan.

The other loan I've made unenforcable by asking for the CCA, which they couldn't provide. I would have probably gone bankrupt if I couldn't take this course, as £4.5k at a pound a month would never be cleared.

I hope that helps, and welcome to the board.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

There are a number of options. Certainly you could try the CCA route. One OP has rendered £32K worth of debt unenforceable; another had her only large debt confirmed. You just cannot tell.

The other option would be to consider bankruptcy as you do not have a lot to lose.

Alternatively, you could try the £1 a month and chase me approach, although if you want to do that, at least try to cull the list of creditors by asking for the CCA first.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
