Hi there
i was wondering if anyone could advise me on the best thing to do to get rid of my debt. I have a student overdraft (which the charges have now increased on) and a credit card the debt totals £1900. I had been paying money into both but dont seem to get anywhere with the interest charges etc.
I can afford to pay £90 per month and want to get rid asap. ur
i have been reading about balance transfers is this the best option or would a loan be a better idea?
Thanks for your help

It may depend on what card you already have, but Virgin money is offerring a creditcard with 0%APR for 15 months. This will allow you to BT your current card balance as well as to do a moneytransfer with the same 0% APR so you can get rid of your overdraft. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
I agree about trying to get a balance transfer. Then try to use ebay/ car boot/ quidco to make some extra money to throw at it.
why not post a statement of affairs ( all money going in and out etc) and we'll see if we cnan save you some pennies here and there!0
