Writing off debt (telephone call)

Hi

just had a pre-recorded phone call saying that if i owe credit crads and some debt it can be written off. I heard this on TV this morning as well. Whats it all about and if there is any truth in this how do you apply and what are the conditions.

I'm sure there is going to be catches but if some one can explain how it works there is no harm in trying.

    Hi

This sounds like an IVA - I would suggest you look into this as it is a great solution for some people.

Maybe type IVA into a search engine so you get some independant advice.

I know a lot about IVA's having worked in the industry for 4 years so if you want any help with general questions please just ask

Personally, I would suggest seeking independent advice regarding your situation rather than rearching one particular solution.

I must stress IVA's can be good, but only for a very small percentage of people. In reference to the phone call, any company that are leaving pre-recorded messages for you are probably best avoided.

    This is garbage.

For over 30 years companies that did not organise the proper legal documentation for the loan, catalogue and CC they offered could not enforce payment of a debt in court.

The situation changed in April 2007.

if a company has not got the required documentation, then the debtor can refuse to pay and the DCa cann0t chase them throught he courts.

many people on here have done this successfully. It costs £1 for the CCA request and you need to send it by registered letter.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
