Forever Products and Aloe Vera - MLM/Pyramid?

That's precisely why I never offer my Avon to relatives!0

Anyone? Or a suggestion of where to post for a discussion?
Pyramid schemes are illegal and if this company were guilty of such a thing (which they are not) they would not be in business 35 years and expanding world wide. The aloe vera products have to be imported into the UK and as such go through all the legal hoops required. There's no way the government wouldn't have "noticed" them.0 -
Notwithstanding the way Forever sell (a friend of ours is a distributor/agent), the actual product is ruddy marvelous. The gel works wonders on skin issues, including athlete's foot - better and actually cheaper, because a little goes a long way, than any other treatment I have previously used. And my wife is drinking the horrible tasting stuff for her psoriasis and has noticed a dramatic difference before versus after, having also tried pills from Healthspan. Placebo effect? No idea, but it works for us. By the way, isn't the Forever set up just like Tupperware used to operate?
I have used FLP Aloe to treat Athlete's foot myself and it cleared it when creams from the chemist wouldn't budge it.
My GP uses FLP Aloe Vera and she mentioned it to me while I was in a consultation while discussing other things. I signed up to FLP with another person about 18 years back long before my GP mentioned it, but only in order to get the Aloe cheaper than I could from distributors. I have never attempted to sell any and I have never been contacted by the person who signed me up, more than once just after signing or pushed into going to meetings etc.
I do regularly get "spam" from FLP after adding my online details to their website but apart from that, there is no issue.
I have used lots of Aloe Vera in the last 20 years and only one beat FLP Aloe Vera and that is no longer available. I use some every day. The stuff sold in HB doesn't compare in quality IMO, just comparing the two suggests that. Aloe Vera is not just purely water like HB and similar products are, FLP Aloe does have Aloe fibres in the juice which give more of the whole Aloe benefits of the beneficial polysaccharides etc.
People who complain about the taste being awful sound like they have a sweet tooth from eating too many of the wrong foods. I have drank pints of Aloe in one go at times and I wouldn't say that the taste is in any way off putting, but then I have used Chinese medicinal herbs which tasted like drinking grass in the past and those can really take some stomaching IMO.
FLP cannot make medical claims because the THMPD prevents them or any distributor from doing so. It's the same for any none registered medicinal product in that medical claims cannot be made.0 -
First of all a pyramid scheme is not a bad thing, just had a bad name in the past.
Nearly all home business's are Pyramid schemes Avon, Ann summers, Forever Living etc, etc.
The Big point with forever is it has been awarded some prestige awards in Business in the UK, The DSA Direct selling association has to be approved for any of these companies. Forever Living has the top award Champion in People, because it treats its reps extremely well. And is has been training other companies its practices, as part of a government scheme.
The Aloe products are a little bit higher priced than other, but this is because of the quantity of Aloe in the products 99% in one but 85% is the norm.
There is no aloe product in a shop on the market in the UK with more than 20%, most less than 5%.
As for the Reps that have lost money, this is nearly impossible, as you buy no stock ever, and just sell what people order.
The business does cost £200 to join properly, you can join for £100 but only get 15% profit, for that £200 you get £300 worth of stock to display and share, and lots of business material.
£200 is the legal limit in the UK for any MLM business...you actually get a bargain in the UK as other countries its £300.
I started this business for myself about 4 months ago, very sceptical, but the initial £200 is refundable within 14 days, and thought i could risk the £200.
My first month i made £230, so only £30 profit, but is was profit. About 5 hours work.
Second month was £250 but obviously all profit this time, still only 5 hours.
Third month was £260, and fourth month will be just shy of £300.
Still only 5 hours a month.
But this is the point i can keep doing my 1 product party a month and earn about £300 a month. And this is fine for me at the moment.
There is no pressure to sell, and the 60 day money back guarantee is great, also what most people dont know is the company gives the money back not the rep, so the rep doesnt loose.
There is the possibility to earn a lot more, by recruiting others to your team, but you dont have to.
I recruited 1 person without asking them as they know me and they just wanted the same income £300 a month, so now they do the same.
Anyway thats my story of how its gone so far, if anyone is thinking of joining then please message me, and will answer any questions honestly without the hype0 -
I hope you all can put my mind at rest as I am worried about the influence FLP seem to have over my Dad and his girlfriend. I hope you can shed some light on this company as all I seem to find online are 'partners' saying how great they are, but they would say that wouldn't they? Anyway my questions are:-
1/ My dad and his girlfriend became 'partners' for FLP 3years ago and are still on their 'lower earning' tier. Is this normal? Whenever I ask them about it they seem very vague in how much they are spending and earning from it?
2/FLP introduced a will writing service to my dad and girlfriend and they have signed up to it. It apparently leaves the business to children but does anybody here have a better understanding of it? I wouldn't want my dad to have signed something that he didn't know about.
3/They are going to 'business presentations' every week and seem to go to 'success days' at least once a month which is costing them a fortune in entrance fees and travel costs. They have also paid to go to FLP's overseas seminars that are costing a lot too. Every company I have worked for includes training as part of being employed so I don't understand why they need to charge?
4/if this company is so great why don't they sell through supermarkets and advertise on TV like other companies? Seems a bit like a pyramid scheme even though my Dad and GF say not......
I hope I'm completely wrong about FLP.......0 -
I think one big problem people have with FLP is not exactly, directly, with FLP but with the people they sign up under.
The company itself, IMO, is solid.
I signed up ages ago (didn't really do anything, but thats down to me).
The person that signed me up is a family friend but lived on a whole different continent.
This guy is successful. Not as successful as some other people I met that get their earnings solely from FLP but hes got a nice house, car, FLP office, affords regular vacations etc. He lives comfortably.
Now he preaches the products like no other (can't fault him, everything I tried has been fab) and it is a tidbit obsessive.
BUT if you want to sign up under him he will bend over backwards to educate you, give you information, help you to succeed in any way possible.
The problem that I see is not everyone is like that.
The company (when I say company I mean FLP the people located in AZ, US) will not do all this for you. They provide the products, the promo materials, and they do seminars and rallies, BUT the rest is on the distributors turned "Area Managers" they should recruit new people and work with them.
Thats the nature of this business. So some people will do brilliant while others will sign up and not hear from their higher up again.0 -
Why not just buy an aloe vera plant?

Is it safe though? I mean how do you know you get the right one and not one of the hundreds of types of other Aloe plants?
Definitely heated on getting one now though!0
