Thats every day at my place, you just get used to it. And its sods law if you turn up an hour later (when its usually now your turn); they're running on time for that one day of probably the whole year.

If you have an issue, you can call the surgery at 9am for a emergency appointment and they will see you that morning. This applies to everywhere in the UK.

On top of that, having a appointment at 16.10 and being surprised they are behind? Another donkey. They have to deal with emergency appointments, home emergency visits etc. Some people expect too much rather than just getting on with it

    My doctors is crap.

I am one of those people who only goes to the doctor if I am dying, seriously, I have been about twice in ten years so I really only go if I have to.

I had a problem a few weeks back and phoned up to make an appointment, only to be told that they could only book appointments upto 14 days in advance and that they were all full. I would have to phone back the next day to see if any were available and if not, keep phoning everyday after that until I got in.

The receptionist asked if it was an urgent appointment - well, no not really but I suppose I could eventually die if I never got to see a Doctor...! - I could phone and speak to a Triage Nurse the next day then, for advice over the phone. Guess what, the complaint I had already had for 2 weeks before ringing the Drs in the first place cleared up the next day!

    Another experience...

I had booked into the Docs to see the Nurse for holiday jabs. I had to leave work early to get to the appointment and unfortunately got stuck in traffic and was 20 mins late. I was greeted by a very snotty receptionist who advised me that I had missed my appointment with the Nurse and therefore probably couldn't get my jabs and it would serve me right if I caught some nasty lurgy whilst on holiday. She said she would see if the Nurse could possibly find time to squeeze me in.

After making me wait about 20 mins, she eventually said that the Nurse would see me. I went in and apologised for being so late - the Nurse said "No problem, I'm only doing my paperwork, you are my only patient this aftrenoon!"

Aaarrrrgghh!! The dragons on reception (at my practice at least) seem to think that they know best and if they don't like you - TOUGH!!
    :p
