Tesco "raincheck" type voucher

Think they call it a Special Offer voucher.
Anyway, went shopping this afternoon and wanted to buy the Clover Light on offer at half price (85p) but there were non on the shelves and the offer end date is today. Went to Customer Services and was told that they only do vouchers for "2 for 1", "3 for 2" type offers - i.e. if you manage to get one but there's not enough on shelf to fill offer. Told they have never done vouchers for any other type of offer when there's nothing on the shelf as it has always been "subject to availability".
Is this right - I'm sure I've had a voucher previously for something that wasn't 2-4-1.
Have Tesco changed their policy, or am I dreaming the previous voucher?

I would guess thatall deals like this are "subject to availibilty", however any sort of vouchers in liue of te offer are merely a goodwill gesture.
I seem to remeber though thatraincheck vouchers were given in ASDA, not sure about tescoNever put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..
