Debt Managers trying it on with F & F

Phoned them last week - told me that offer I made Droyds (who the debt was with before) was not acceptable but that the client normally gives 25% discount for F & F. I agreed to the new figure in F & F and asked for a confirmation letter. Letter came today but said it would be accepted in 'partial' settlement! I phoned and was at first told that that was how they do things and that the debt would in fact be settled. I argued the point that legally the wording should say 'in full and final settlement' . The guy then said that I will never get that from them! I've just now written to DM relating what was agreed last week and asking what was the logic in refusing my offer of a F & F when I could only afford £5 per month and that no court would award a higher instalment. At that rate it will take me over 250 months to pay the debt! I'm sending the letter today with a postal order for £5 and have told them that if they refuse the offer this time then I will continue to pay £5 a month. Have they done this to anyone else - changed a F & F to a partial hoping of course we'll be thick enough to fall for it?
