I love my slow cooker - it's an old 70s one from the MIL. I also use mine to make bread so don't need a bread maker. H will eat stew til doomsday so always make loads and save.
How do you make bread using a slo cooker please? Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -

We bought a slow cooker for about £15 (or less) in Aldi.
Used it for the first time today. It has 3 settings, Low, High and Auto.
As the chicken chasseur was in it all day I told OH to put it on Low, and this cooked everything nicely and it was still warm when I got in from work (OH had his half 2 hours before I got in but left the rest in there for me).
I've not read the instructions as I'm not sure where OH has put them, but was does the Auto setting do? Does it go through varying temperatures? How does it know what temperature you want to cook at if it's on Auto?0 -
neither of mine have auto facility but I love them...
You were right when you asked about how auto works...

I have had/used a slow cooker of some description for about 30 years and I would hate to be without one. I don't have one because of cost saving but for convenience and the taste. You can leave things to cook themselves and it's great for a hot meal when you get in from work.
