thanks cheryl - at least I now understand. I think such vacancies would be like gold dust. It's also a hard choice to change anyway, as my dentist is very close and very very caring: last xmas my jaw was ceased shut by arthritis in the jaw joint and his went out of his way to help with with a tooth problem at the time.(Yes it was all very:eek:)I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

iHi Raychee and lil_lady
Come on in...the water's lovely even if it is a frugal 16C  :rotfl:
But, the more frugalites splashing about...the warmer it will get.
If I could live on my kitchen ceiling, I would be lovely and warm. I discovered this while cleaning the tops of kitchen units
Perhaps I could sleep on top of themIt would be a little compact and bijou but so warm.
Unlike my kitchen floor...my poor little toes is frozen even though they are wrapped up warm and one has a moggy asleep on it
I am revising my budget a little as I don't think I have allowed enough for presents, even HM ones.
And, I have included all the car running costs in my original budget (bar diesel) when I need the car to do my job (on the district). I think I will allocate two thirds to work and one for other usage. I can then move some of that to gifts/sundries.
I bought some things to stockpile so will be deducting that from the budget on Jan 1 2009.
I have received my Building Society passbook that I will be using purely for housekeeping. It pays all of 0.5% interest but it's better than sticking the money in a drawer.
Although under the mattress is looking a good safe place seeing what our financial "experts" have been doing with the billions they are entrusted with :rolleyes:0 -

I'm not saying that mine is the right way but I have 15% of my vehicle in the 4 grand challenge. But I'm self-employed with a dual usage vehicle. 15% is my personal use and 85% is business. I did consider having all the road tax and insurance in the 4 grand challenge but figured that I will need to eat sometime.
No hard rules on this. The challenge is for yourself rather than a competition with others.0 -
£4000 in one year??:eek::eek: just seen this thread for first time i would love to do this but now brace yourselves..... we have spent more then this in 2 months lol 2000 was on a car thou ....
does this include everything???
like my car insurance is 890 this year not to mention my partners
Well if you are going to include stuff like that, I did 15 grand in a month several years ago. Mind you, that has been dwarfed by the extra income it eventually got me.0 -

Bernard Madoff CW, recently accused of investment fraud to the tune of 50 billion dollars
Thanks for the stockpiling advice peeps - I do already have a list of what we have in each place but it's useless if OH doesn't use it  He cooks a fair bit so if I ask him not to go in the cupboards we won't eat :rotfl:
