Well, that's the interview over and done with, it seemed to go very well, but you never know what will happen. I've been for some where I thought I'd got it, only to discover it was a no go and vice versa. I just hope that today it is my turn as it seems as if it would be a very interesting and worthwhile job to do.
I made my lack of tooth a talking point, so we had a few laughs, it made me seem 'human' to them I guess. I should know sometime this week, if it is a phonecall, that is good, if it is a letter, then that's not so good.
I've got 6 jewellery parties this week, I will be knackered by Friday, but I'm not complaining, the cash is very much needed.
Sorry about the house lynda, I hope you find what you are looking for very soon, even better, if the original house comes right.

Fingers crossed for you SL: having a laugh over your tooth was definitely the way to go, as you say, it showed you in a human light - people want to work with people they like ultimately.
WW - you certainly demonstrated the difference between working on finances after 7pm and leaving it to the next day! Glad it feels more deal-able with today. And well done on the 2kg - that's very very good. Is there anything you changed that you think contributed to the weight loss? That speed of loss is the healthy way to do it and makes sit all the more sustainable.
As for wills my siblings ensured their sons could not inherit everything at 18 if anything happened tothem, as they didn't feel they would have maturity at that age to be wise with it. I think a trust was set up to age 21 within the will? With day to day maintenance covered for pre 18 and guardians/post 18 mentors in place. I am joint guardian of a friends children's trust fund if something hppens to both of them and runs til they are 21 (currently under 8). From my perspective, it's a lovely way of having permission to be involved with the children: it's important i know them so I can help to the best of my ability if something happens to my friends. It also removed the added burden from the people the children would live with.
cw - that is a lot to get your head round. But it sounds great that you can at least pay off your debts:T . Hope everything falls into place.
Nyk - we've just tried el cheepo teabags instead of our usual. Felt very virtuous but tasted vile:rotfl: . OH has sneaked out to buy some PG:o. Still,we tried. On the otherhand, we have switched to using dried milk only wioth sucess at half the price of usual milk.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
BB - keep trying different versions of the teabags if you have access to different stores. I thought I hated the value ones (tried Tesco and Lidls) but persevered and for me the Sains ones taste fine.0

Phoned the pension company this morning, and they said they'd post out necessary forms etc today by first class. Also said that as long as we can get a letter from the college to confirm younger son started the course on (date) and the proposed end date is (date) I'll definitely get the dependant half as well
The vicar has been over this afternoon to discuss the service arrangements, and said he's told the funeral home he's waiving his fee. He's knows we've been very shakey financially for the last couple of year (with being neighbours they know about my prolonged sick leave and upcoming redundancy)..... so that's £141 to come off the final invoice. I was totally stunned, as it's not even as if we attend the church (have been for 3 christenings in the the 6.5 years we've lived here).Cheryl0 -

cw - there are some absolutely lovely people about. I found a beautiful quote this morning amongst my scrapbooking stuff (don't know where it came from) that said:
Every kindness spreads in a shining circle - see how good people everywhere set rings of light moving across the darkness, rings that link and interlock and keep at bay the forces of the night.
BTW - weightloss most probably down to the Orlistat I am taking (hence regular doctor's visits). Used it successfully before. Am very good about taking it 3 times a day. No side effects so far - this is the one that gives some people the leaky bottom syndrome, lol. I know that I will be able to keep the weight off once I get down within a normal weight range. It seems like a monumental task at the moment, hence the 'helping hand'. I have twinges of disgust at myself for needing it, but mainly I am positive, and like the 'learning to budget' know that I will become better for the rest of my life through having been out of control. Long story. Anyway, I am convinced there wouldn't be so much of an obesity problem if people kept tabs on their spending. Oh how I begrudge any non-nutritious spends these days.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
That is a lovely quote whitewing, and so true.
I was once in a really dark place (metaphorically speaking) and a small act of kindness from someone turned my life around. I like to think that some day I would be able to repay the kindness by helping someone else.
Going to print that and put it in my office .. thanks.
Well done on the weightloss too:T0 -
I'm not really in a good place today, so I'm just popping on to say hello, and I'll probably update tomorrow. xxBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

You already have, in multiples!!!
Called the nurse today and got appointment with doctor. I am now on antibiotics. Fingers crossed that my throat infection is bacterial origin and not viral as then there is a chance for the antibiotics to work. Not a NSD as I hoped as I needed to get some soups. It seems the only thing I can eat at the moment. Why don't they make scotch broth ice cream? :rotfl:Oooh, that would be so lovely for both my throat and tummy at the moment.
SF: Hope you are feeling better soon. Take it easy.
DD got punnet of strawberries from her dad and is pestering to get some so I need to go and give some for her. And then it is just a chill out evening for me. I would like to do one MB bet as to finish with one of the bookies before my free bet expires but othewise my todo list had been pushed to hide under my laptop.
Have a productive/relaxing (which ever you prefer) evening everyone!!
