Car Cash Needed Quick!!!!

Hi All,

I've posted my longwinded tirade on DMP support thread but in a nutshell our £300 car was MOT'd today and needs £400+ worth of work and the mechanic says it isnt worth doing (SOB).
For me no car = no money (self employed and need to carry stock etc around with me) so no dmp payments or other luxuries like um nappies, wipes, some food stuffs that sort of thing.
My diary is full of bookings for October & November so need a car QUICK and have literally no £££.

I'm looking for a banger £200-£300 max to put us on and now need to raise cash. I will sell the old car as spare and repairs, am listing books and dvds as we speak on ebay & amazon but need quick money making ideas (moral & legal please!).

I will not be beaten by a bloody ungrateful car lol!
Any ideas MUCH appreciated - if you all havent any good ideas Im scuppered as no-one will!

Sadly no but have had a tip from the DMP thread about car dealers wanting rid of vehicles - have a look on ther if you are interested so will give it a go - nothing ventured.
    Thanks for replying hun x

Am I right in thinking that you can "cash in" your tax disc? I Taxed the car on the 1st Sept (Sob) for 6 months at £68 - can i cash it in for the remaining months and how would this work?

I'm pretty sure you can cash in your tax disc, check out the DVLA website http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/?SKIN=directgov

Just read that page and if you declare you vehicle SORN (off road) online this month you will be entered into a prize draw for a Seat Ibiza:

[Quote: If you tax or SORN on-line or by phone this month you will be entered into a FREE prize draw for one of 3 brand-new SEAT Ibiza incentiveBrand.jpg;JSESSIONID_EvlPortalApp=LhPN2nLZL68f0TVfrzJc3bF9PJ1yShQTQHPfFRhpwKyY72VhPpJD!1426500232!1290253254 cars.

Thanks Rabbit - PMSL a new Seat would be worth more than the total contents of our house (because what hasnt already been sold is now listed on Amazon!!).
Looks like I can cash in the tax disc (YAY!) - will wait and see who we can get to take it off our hands - and for how much! Then will cash it in if necesssary. Thank you for the link(s).

Magic - we are with CCCS and this would be our first payment. Im guessing cccs would be ok but its not an ideal start and seeingas we are waiting on responses to our dmp proposals, making people wait after already telling them that it will be October isnt going to do us any favours. Im determined to pay the DMP payment and find a way to rasie the cash ASAP needed for a car.
    Thanks for the advice though.

Right - I have listed my not so worldly goods on Amazon, and despite now turning the house upside down i can't see anything else to sell!
I know I can cash in my tax disk and am aiming to get perhaps £65 for my old car as spares or repairs so that will take me to about £100. No local mystery shops going. Help me be creative quickly! Need a car or no work!

How I can raise a couple of hundred more?
