Christmad Table Mats

I've got about a dozen old table mats (plywood I think) that I've kept over the years when they've got too stained to use. I thought It would be a good idea to somehow decorate them and use them as Christmas table mats. Any ideas of what I could do with them please?

Cover them with really posh looking wrapping paper, I did it last year with tesco extra special gold textured paper and everyone commented on them.0
