I'm having trouble thinking of a Birthday present for my 5 year old Nephew.
He likes Cars - but has quite a few of those already, doesn't really "do" cuddly toys and anything like Lego will just get strewn across the bedroom floor!
My budget is £40 ish.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. - THANKS!

What about a big day out? We took my DD to the zoo for the day had a nice lunch together then went to the toy shop for her to choose her own something special. My family do this for birthdays quite often as my DD has so many toys none of which she plays with.
If you would rather get a gift why not try some of the horrible science sets or something for the garden/park they are a bit different to the usual gifts.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
A couple of suggestions, could you have him over for an afternoon and put him in front of the cartoons, when the breaks come on, make a note of all the toys he shouts out that he wants for xmas....
Also, take him for a trip up to town and around some toy shops, at 5 years old, he'll soon tell you what he wants.

Playmobil? Both mine like playing with it and you can esily add to it on later occassions.
My sons are both very into Dr who atm (Power rangers are also quite popular), is he into a 'character' as such?Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....0 -

Does he like reading? There are some lovely books around at the moment - either ones that he can read himself or ones that he can have read to him.
There is the complete collection of Thomas the Tank books which would be a lovely present;

There is another book called Night Time which is absolutely beautiful. I bought one for my Godson for Christmas. Every page has a different sound when you open it.

Speaking for my nearly 5yr old - he's getting the Dark Knight Batmobile for his birthday. ATM, he's very much into Lego, Transformers & good old Playmobil.0
