Hiya, I was wondering if you have went to your doctors regarding stopping smoking? I hear they can give you patches on prescription and in bulk which is alot cheaper than buying them from the chemist. Once you are able to stop then that is more money towards your debts and better health too!Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)

Hi SS again - I've had a bit of damage limitation recently - cost me £110 to pull out of a trip away this weekend but it would have been chaos (like even not spending much at all, it would have been at least £100 more) if I'd gone - so I have already started to be sensible ish! If I am clever and keep a track of my daily spending which I have realised is ridiculous and stupid, then I can clear the debts to the creditors ALL by JULY 06 - maybe sooner and then start paying back my poor (literally!) parents too.... :j

Debt free in MAY 06 :j0 -
HGLTsuperstar - hi thanks - my student loans defaulted - I was lucky to be able to talk them around into not registering this default against my name, but it went to their credit control team (or potential litigation - !!) and so the interest was frozen. I literally had to bargain a few years ago to pay off a whole load (like £500) so they'd not give me a CCJ and it was an enormous pain in the B*** so I wouldn't recommend it, but I would always suggest talking to someone about repayments

Oh well, I thought you had the answer to all my prayers, guess not but good luck anyway. My end of year statement came today so I was open to all suggestions, besides the one about never earning over 15K p.a.0

You seem to have done really well to clear as much debt as you have on fairly limited resources.
Couple of ideas for you to consider.
You have about £1500 on credit cards and store cards. These obviously rack up interest fast so you are doing the right thing prioritising them. Have you looked at transfering the balances to a card with a low introductory rate? Or is your credit rating too poor to get another card? Alternatively have you spoken to your bank, if they can see you are making regular payments they may consider a small loan at a lower rate than you are paying on the cards.
You must have things you don't want anymore have you considered selling on e-bay?
Best of luck0
