Cheers for the reply.
He was stating that a freeview box with one tuner will be a bit pointless come the day analogue goes west.
2 boxes? along with the VCR and DVD? Don't have that much room under the telly0 -
I agree with your comment regarding 1 tuner - as you cant watch another channel when recording - twin tuner is all in one unit
- mine is the same size as a DVD player (slim line type one)

It's so annoying that the loss of the facility to watch one channel whilst recording another is largely being ignored. IMO the switch-off of analogue should not be allowed to take place until dual-tuner digiboxes are available for peanuts.

how many dual tuner VCR's are there nowadays though?
by the time the analogue switch off comes around all VCR's(if around) and DVD-Recs and TV's will all have digital tuners so we'll be in much the same position as now. Saying that you shouldn't switch off analogue until twin tuner PVR's are available seems a bit daft as people manage now without twin tuners.0 -

to do that on terrestrial you need two tuners, to do that with digital, you need two tuners
Given the cost of freeview boxes now, by the time most regions actually do switch off analogue most people will have at least one, if not more, they'll be a pittance.0 -

To watch one channel while taping another you use both.
To do this with digital, you similarly need two tuners. Either you have to buy a TV and VCR which both have built-in digital tuners, or you have to adapt your TV and VCR separately (i.e. with two digi boxes) OR you get a PVR which takes care of both. I simply don't see why nobody is making/marketing simple twin tuner digi boxes - presumably because they have a financial interest in encouraging the consumer to buy new tellies and videos with built-in digital capability.Operation Get in Shape
