Hi,
Tomorrow I plan to make beefburgers and meatballs, but, im not sure if I should freeze them raw, or freeze them once ive cooked them.
CAn anyone give me any info on this?

I make burgers fresh as I need them as I just squish the meat into a burger shape, but would probably say freeze uncooked then defrost and cook as normal.
Meatballs I freeze uncooked (open freeze on baking tray) unless I am making them in a sauce (could I recommend these delicious morsels?

Hi Jackie,
You can do it either way but I prefer to freeze them raw (providing that the meat used hasn't been previously frozen raw). They taste so much better cooked 'fresh' than reheated after they've been frozen cooked.

I've done both - frozen trays of cooked meatballs in tomato sauce (to go with spaghetti) and frozen meatballs "raw" - both worked fine.
Though, if you're going to freeze from raw, make sure you freeze them separately on a tray or similar before you bag up - else you'll end up defrosting a bag of meatball-mush-mince.....

I'd freeze the burgers raw - that way, they're freshly cooked when you eat them. Having said that, they're easy enough to make fresh from scratch

I cook big batches of meatballs, then freeze them. It's then really easy to make a tomato sauce and just add as many meatballs as needed, and they're ready in no time

Thank you, Mince was on offer at Asda so brought 3 packs, going to make some sheppards pies up and meatballs tomorrow and wanted to be able to freeze some.
