Maximising Scottish Widows Money Purchase Pension

Hi
Just a quick ask. I have been offered a Scottish Widows money purchase pension, through my company. The firm will put in 3% of my annual salary and I have to put in 3%, too. Seems a good way to get a guaranteed 3% to stash away. They have arranged a financial advisor to handle all the admin side of things. Before I meet him, does anyone have any general tips about how to get the best out of this money? I can chose what sort of funds I want the money invested in and would really like an ethical fund, if possible. However, I am in my late thirties and whilst I only have a small overdraft (which I'm clearing), but no real assets so I'd really like to maximise this opportunity. Any ieas?
Many thanks
Sid

If you dont mind the compromises that means then fair enough. They may have one or two funds if its a COMP scheme or 2-3 funds if GPPP.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks dunstonh.
To be honest, I am basing the ethical decision on mainly moral grounds. However, I do have a hope that with the current chaos the tide may turn to a more "caring, sharing" way of doing things. I really need to check out whether it's cash or principles, at present.
Also, I had better swot up on all those accronyms. Thank God for MSE!
Many thanks.0
