Tax Payer Or Not?

Hi All
On filling out various applications for bank investments one of the first questions is "Are you a tax payer or not". The reason I ask, my wife works full time and I am on incapacity benefit for which I receive no payment only NI credits. I also have £80,000 in savings in my own account. My question once again is do I tick the box for tax payer or non tax payer?

if you have an gross income of less than 6035 per annum, you can tick the non tax payer box
so if your sole income is interest on 80,000.. lets say at 6% gross then you will have 4,800 gross interest per year... less than 6035.. so you can tick 'non tax payer' and so fill in a R85
If you already have a/c paying net of tax dont forget to reclaim the tax paid and change them to receiving interest gross too0
