Hello All

I've eventually got the guts to write to HSBC to explain I'm in financial difficulty and to hold activity on my accounts etc (thanks to this forum so thank you all so much)!

But where should I send the letter? There are so many addresses for them, I want it to get there asap and not be passed from office to office!!

Thanks!

Firstly it sounds like you need to do a proper SOA etc. so do get in contact with Payplan or CCCS. You will also need a "safe" bank account or HSBC will take everything in your account if you owe them money so don't rush into writing to them. If you don't use CCCS/Payplan you need to be aware that if you have an HSBC credit card that department is separate from the rest of their organisation so you will need to contact them at the Southend address on your cc statement. I sent my letter to HSBC to the branch holding my account but they didn't pass it on to the cc department and I had to deal with them separately, they'll ring you up quickly enough once the account goes into arrears by the way!! also beware that they will charge you for bouncing your direct debits, make it very clear when you write that you are cancelling all direct debits, standing orders etc on the account and then if they do try to charge you complain, I got those charges refunded.

Hope this helps and good luck
