Well gotta pay off the mortgage somehow - the money's owed to the Government now.
  • My town has a Nat West and a Lloyds TSB. There are 4 Estate Agents and 5 pubs.

No personal services (that I know of) :(

    There's loads of antique shops.

Each high street will have 3 Tescos, one for food and any other object, one for finance of any description and one offering every service under the sun from selling houses to fixing your toilet.

Nightmare vision, but at least you'd have substantial clubcard points.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Our little local town is pretty lovely. Mainly independants. The post office dsells everything from coffee to lovely stuffed toys. Banks and EAs leaving will change the scene though. :(

Will they offer 'personal services' too? In which case will they have a Value range, Taste the Difference and so on?

    :D

If they do start offering 'personal services' I will be following the ethos of this website and popping down just before they close so I can get said services very cheap before they... erm.... go off.

I've also head that some of the Value Range Personal Services are actually made by the big brands, they just come in different packaging.

I have no idea what I'm talking about now.

what will likely happen is eventually rental prices will drop to a level that small specialist shops will find it worth while to have a high-street presence.

When it costs much less to rent people can operate lower margin and specialist shops.
