We are also a family of 6, our bill is about £60 per week, but I do find it can be hard to stick to sometimes, this odes include all wash stuff too. I make my own washing powder and use my slow cooker where I can.

Well shopping done today and I followed some of your ideas.
Cost: £59.04. - (This is the weekend that my step daughter doesn't come)
I really want to change that to a lower amount so I am going to read some more of your replies and try and follow the other ideas.0 -
Like Peachy, I just buy food for myself, but can easily spend up to £200. I am currently doing my budget and want to cut this down.
However I feel that the only way to do that would be to compromise a healthy diet, I like to eat fresh foods, not too many frozen or packaged goods. I find that all supermarket food offer are for foods which I consider unhealthy pizzas for eg. they never do offers on healthy foods! I don't buy meat, but do like to include fish in my diet which can be expensive.
Don't mean to sound like a snob, but I just feel better eating these foods and don't want to eat a diet of bread and potaotoes. :j
I have already cut-out herbal tablets and buying from the health food store as that is expensive.
I have tried the local market for fruit and veg, but they are more expensive!!
Any advice please?!!!

We spend £30 per week for two adults (and one plays rugby so eats ALOT). We NEVER eat frozen food (except peas) and eat masses of vegetables.
I never get the arguement "I won't compromise my on my food." The cheapest foods are vegetables, and you don't get much healthier. No compromise needed, just some imagination...

Your right, veggies are cheap, I guess I just have to be organised and plan what I will eat, rather than buying lots of fresh stuff and letting it go to waste, or I could shop more frequently and just top up the veggie supply as and when need to.
I will make more of an effort to do so and get that bill cut down.
