Thanks for the reminder...we go through a lot of fruit and veg here and I think Lidl has better quality than Tesco, which is of the rock hard--> rotten with no ripe phase between.Val.0

Just because it says its half price it doesn't mean its cheaper than other supermarkets. Having been into the Lidll in Blantyre and then gone into Asda Blantyre I can say Asda is cheaper.
Asda cherry tomatoes 50p - lidl 54p
Asda potatoes 50- lidl 58p
I'm sure there were more.
I'm not convinced by the quality of their fruit and veg in Lidl - like any other supermarket you need to check it all really well before you buy. Tesco quality can be shocking sometimes.
Double check your prices!0 -
The cherry tomatoes were under 30p in my Lidl this lunchtime. (not sure of the price because I was not buying any). Pineapples were 49p and too many other things to mention.
The veg quality in Lidl varies. I was going to buy bananas but they were either half rotten or bright green so I left without any. On the other hand their aubergines were great.0 -

hi my lidl has this (taysdie) so thought i would show you what i got yesterday so you could see the prices - i have found with our lidl it can somtimes be a bit hit or miss on the qaulity of veg but yesterday was great:
Bag organic onions - 0.39
Honeydew Melon - 0.69
Large Baking pot - 0.38
Kiwi - 0.12
Spring onion bunch - 0.29
Pineapple - 0.49
tub cherry toms - 0.29
bag fun size bananas (great for kids) 0.42
bag celery - 0.29
Cucumber - 0.29
Iceberg lettuce - 0.29
Avacado - 0.29
tesco/morrisons/sommerfield may have one or 2 items on cheap but to me lidl far beats them all!0 -

How strange.
I was in Lidl in Granton, Edinburgh today and cherry tomatoes were definitely 29p.0
