I've won for the first time - I think!

Not sure to be honest as I had a 'phonecall from an unknown number on my mobile earlier and the bloke first asked for Mrs. Hutchinson (not me) and Mrs. atkinson (again not me) so I thought it was a wind-up and put the 'phone down!
Then he called again and asked for my name and said 'you've entered a competition on-line and although you didn't win the first prize, you won a runner up voucher worth £500 which is on its way to you'.
Then the signal went! So I didn't find out who they were.
I've entered so many comps, I'm really not sure what one it was.
Has anyone else had a similar call today?

Yes from Weatherseal windows. She said exactly the same thing, that I'd won a runners up voucher of £500. I told her I wasn't interested (as I'm pretty sure it's a con to get you to buy thousands of pounds worth of windows) and she just wouldn't give up! She was asking me what home improvements I was considering this year and whether I was looking to buy new windows, every time I clearly stated I wasn't interested she kept asking questions so in the end I just hung up    .
Did the lady sound Scottish? Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

Hi Poodle,
no it was a bloke - not Scottish but I'm pretty sure he said Weatherseal. Gutted! Never mind I thought it was too good to be true!
Glad we got cut off then!

Believe me it was for the best! I couldn't get her off the phone!
Never mind, maybe a big win is just around the corner? I had a couple of months where I won absolutely nothing when I first started comping and then all of a sudden prizes started to turn up on my doorstep
Remember that sometimes it takes weeks or even months to ship out prizes...my first win was technically at the end of July but it took until the beginning of this month for me to even find out about it  .
Good luck lisaf, hope you win something nice very soon :jThanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

I had a call yesterday afternoon from a Scottish guy from Weatherseal to say I had won a runner up prize of £500 vouchers - before I got too excited I thought it was strange for a company to ring on a Sunday, then I asked whether the vouchers could be used in NI (cuz thats where I live lol) and he said unfortunately not!
Is this defo a scam?0 -
I don't think it's a scam as such but it's definitely a marketing ploy rather than a real prize. I guess they would have to honour the £500 discount but who knows how much you would have to spend out of your own pocket to claim it.Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

They called me a few days ago. It would seem I had "won" 1500 pounds (as a discount from an order, of course)... since I do need to sort out our windows I said I would call back. I thought about researching them a bit but did not have time.... can't get them off my back!!!
IME people who work well and at good prices do not need to chase customers!0 -
I also had a call they wanted to come round and 'discuss' our win with us between 8.30pm and 9pm, soon told him where to get off0

Being a single male of somewhat relative positive attraction COULD admit to being the caller if your interested?:DThe years starts today ....0
