awful credit rating
i am hoping to get a loan to get a tummy tuck, but 4 years ago when i was 18 i messed up and got in debt with a phone bill. the debt collectors have been paid in full, and i hardly ever miss payments on anything now, am in no debt.
any idea if i would get a loan anywhere? or how i could improve my credit?

You are 22 and want a tummy tuck? I would forget the loan and join the local running or swimming club while you save up.0

Tummy tuck aside as I think you're crazy to even consider such a thing when you obviously can't afford it (you have a family to support for crying out loud), there are simple steps you can take to improve your credit rating.
A general guide is found here:

As far as getting a loan, unless you have a good rating, you are going to get ripped off royally.....so tread carefully. You can always post details of prospective deals here if you'd like a second opinion on them."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Try Pilates or The Plank which was demonstrated on The Chris Evans Show, little effort much to gain0

due to childbirth, and gaining and losing a lot of weight twice.
have tried gym, dieting, and everything i can think of!
Please research this type of procedure - it's not a quick fix, it is major surgery and has all the normal risks of surgical procedures. I'm sure it was this that footballer Colin Hendry's wife had and she's ended up having 6 weeks in a coma and needing 20 operations to have it put right. Is it worth so much to you that you would jeopardise being around for your children?
I don't want to sound unsupportive, but you're 22 with a life ahead of you. Why risk that for a tummy tuck and years of debt paying for it when you should be enjoying being a Mum?
My figure is not perfect by any means, I used to be superfit and at the gym twice a day. I'm not like that anymore and have more of a stomach than I'd like, but I cna't imagine wanting the debt, pain and risks associated with this, even less so if I had children to look after and love.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

ive spoke to quite a few people about it, including my doctor, and my family, and people who have had it, and everyone is supportive. i wouldnt dare show pics, but its horrid, and it really depresses me.
so i need to get better at keeping up payments thanksTHANK MEEE:j0 -
Sart saving for it and use that time to properly research how your life will have to be lived after you've had it done and what follow up procedures will be needed and how often......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0

I could show you some serious belly photos! I know exactly how depression feels, and with me a large part of it is down to the way I look, so I can understand the desire to pay to get yourself a quick fix.
Errata gives great advice - make sure you know what the implications are. Does it impact upon your ability to bear children in the future if you've had such surgery?Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Claire, if your doctor agrees you are depressed (in the medical sense of the term) and is supportive, s/he can refer you for plastic surgery on the NHS.
This op is going to be worse than a C-section, and you can't drive or pick up your kids for 6 weeks after a section, so is this a realistic idea at this point? I imagine your child is still quite young!
Check out Glycaemic Loading for now - it's made an incredible difference to my stomach!
Mel.Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.
