1p found on a shop floor...That's all for today. :)
    DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!
Proud to have dealt with my debts!
  • Nothing much to add here... I have sold a few books though but have no idea how to package them.

They're quite large and thick books and I don't want them getting their corners bashed in the post as I had a seller complain about this before! Anyone have any cheap tips for packaging them so that they aren't bashed to pieces at the corners? :S I don't know where to get bubble wrap from for cheap (I know Asda have it at the veggies bit but I feel like a bit of a prat asking for it) and I have no jiffies, not even old ones!

any spare cardboard lying around? wrap a book in that then get one of the tough plastic envelopes from post office they are about 45p - 95p.

look on ebay for cheap supplies too for future sales.
  • ^Thanks. I have tons of boxes in the loft so will try it then wrap with thick refuse sacks (I usually use them for packing items of clothing... I don't usually sell books) - fingers crossed they stay in tact! x

Hi guys, just popping in with totals. Thanks to some matched bets and a few bits of mystery shopping plus a focus group i have a further £55 to add to my total. So my total now stands at £254.50 for the month. Doing better than i expected, especially as i haven't done much mystery shopping this month, there just doesn't seem to be much around!

  • Not a lot doing at the mo. I changed my phone contract last month saving me £15 a month which I didn't include, but when I got my bill yesterday I paid £10.17 less than exected so I've added that. Found 5p yesterday, and saved £7.35 on multibuys in Lidl this morning, so creeping up.
I listed the last of my books on Amazon yesterday, unfortunately, I ended up buying two more!

CompletelyLost - a few ideas for postage materials:
    • Try asking on Freecycle for unwanted bubble wrap or padded envelopes - I got 2 bin bags full off a nice lady near me
    • Tesco do some cheap brown paper
    • Pound shops do cheap padded envelopes
    • Your local post office will give you as many free special delivery envelopes as you want - just turn them inside out. Got this tip from thread here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=22455
