my mate LOVES retro gaming, and for xmas i want to buy him a nes emulator for his pc, cos his nes is very temperamental (he knows all the turn it upside down type tricks).
i have seen various emulators for pc's- is there one for nes games??? i have seen ones in shops to play commodore 64 and spectrum games (about 350 games per disc) in games shops, but a nes one would make his xmas???
btw- i want to buy one rather than download it pls
any ideas anyone???

don't think nintendo allow emulation of their software, you may find people selling the software on ebay etc but it's just downloaded stuff you already stated you don't want.
more info here - http://www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jsp#emulator
I may be wrong though but from what i read they're dead against it0 -

typical!!!!!
i know why this is, its so they can release the old games for handheld consoles for £15 a peice- what i don't understand is what harm a legitimitely released emulator would do??? sega are releasing one for the ps2, atari, capcom, midway have all released them- its not like they get any money from someone like me buying old nes games second hand
this really gets on my goat this does :mad:things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then
