Anyone got a good DAB radio?

Options
I listen a lot to Radio 5 at home, and I fed up with the poor reception.

I have looked around for a digital radio, but the designs are pathetic and too big for my bedside cabinet.

Is there a reason who they cannot be made the same size as a standard clock radio?

I would be grateful if anyone has found one which is small and stylish and a resonable cost.....

Thanks
Filiss

    Hi Colmil,

I hope you don't mind, but I am going to move your thread over to the I wanna board, where it should get more replies.

I won a DAB "The Bug". Its a cute looking thing but a pain in the bum! There is one central button for on and off and volume and changing channels and its all about which way you rock the button and how long you keep it pressed. I often turn it off when I'm trying to turn it up or down. The sound quality is fantastic.

Currys had a big selection, last time I looked. They were offering a trade in discount, not sure if that offer is still running.

I have a TIVOLI Model DAB. Expensive, but worth it. Same footprint as a clock radio, has all the functions and sounds pretty sweet. I can cut the review down to a few words: 'overpriced, yes but lovely' They are £229, that's the shocker, but hey I use it everyday

Another suggestion, maybe get a better MW aerial fitted, it might be cheaper, and radio 5 has a LOW bitrate on DAB, so it isn't great

if you can tolerate Radio 5 on MW then listening to it even with low bitrate on DAB is much better. Theres a £35 one in Asda which is fairly basic and has a reasonable sized footprint compared to a bedside clock radio(taller of course but base is same size). For £35 it has FM aswell and alarm etc.
