  • So far this week, the total has gone up by about £16 as we had to get some more basics (milk, bread, cheese etc). I think last week we were under what I thought we would be, so hopefully the cupboards will be stocked enough for us to do the same this week.

would have been another nsd today but dh needs oil for his car - will update sig when know how much it cost.

making carrot and cumin soup for the freezer tonight and will probably do some twinks while i'm on.

helenm2008 - my freezer's pretty full now, what i do is for 2 weeks i make one for us one for the freezer - usually stuff that can be made into something else eg beef casserole last week became steak and veg pie this week, i just put a pie crust on top and then the other 2 weeks are 'free food weeks' if you understand what i mean. hth

    Morning all

Just a quick pop in and enter total so far.

I've spent £29.01 from my £250 budget. Off to Tesco's today - need a biggish shop - planning on around £40.

Before I started this grocery challenge I would spend around £60 - 70 every week. Now I object to spending more than £45!!! How things change!!

    Take care all

Have just given hubby €4 so he can pick up some milk on his way home -he has to go past ALDI to get his fuel so its saving there too :D ...I have asked him to pick up 4 litres, so will get a bit of change.... Plus he will only pick up the milk-he isn't one for picking up stuff willy nilly :T so it works out cheaper than me going for it :p

Im using the last of this weeks roast chicken, a leek, some sweetcorn and peas and making a cobbler for diner tonight (made in the remoska)... with green beans from the garden and cabbage

Im now half way through my month :j and even when I add the milk on to my signature later -I will have spent under €10 and had 12 NSDs out of 14 :j
I can only think of milk that we should need for the rest of the month -fingers crossed....
Im going to get on with my crochet blanky today -keeps me out of the shops ;)
Have a great day everyone :D

Mrs M, you have hubby so well trained... Very impressed - amazing how they get into it once they can see the savings - I save £2 coins and hubby just can't spend them now as he knows what I would be saying... he reluctantly hands them over to me saying 'you were nagging me in my head' :rotfl: he's laughing really...

Just checked and with all spending this week I am still under my budget so far... have spent a total of £59.55 this week (£110.54 total), so £9.46 under what I want to have spent so far, but I did go a bit crazy and have brought lots of goodies that I shouldn't have as feeling a bit under the weather earlier in the week, so that can't be bad and hopefully further savings to come... will go and update siggy now...

Lovley sunny couple of days here in Kent so its been easy to keep out of the shops and pottering in the garden and around the house. Today is my 5 NSD in a row, which for me is realy good as i was hving trouble just doing 1 NSD at one point. I ahve spent £97 so far this month out of the £200 planned. But this will need to be cut as i have had the days i work cut from 4 to 2 days. So planning HM Christmas gift of Fudge and Choclate truffles, doing a trail run tomorrow. Sorry off subject abit.

    Bye

Spent€51.76 in Tesco yesterday some of it was baby stuff for for DD2 but she will not take money for things she gets me in shop so it will even out while she is here...so now at a spend of € 94 of my October €300...should be ok I think as there is quite a bit in freezer and cupboards.
