Should I go bankrupt? What would you do?

  • Thanks guys, just came across this page against by chance.

As you may have gathered, a lot of the drive behind my considering bankruptcy as a possibility was a result of the depression caused by such a large amount of debt, having to work long hours, and such a daunting task ahead to clear it. As I think has correctly been implied in several places, bankruptcy is not the correct option for me just yet.

I do, on occasion, spend a little more on food, you are quite right, but as I leave home at 8am and return home at 10pm, that doesn't leave ANY time for food preparation and so it is often a necessary evil to go for the convenience options, and I also have to shop around certain allergies which makes it tricky.

Since I first wrote in this thread I've taken a week off work and re-wrote my budget which, so far, I am managing to stick to. It's tough going and it looks like I won't be able to move out of my parents home until I'm 35 and bald. But hey, I'm getting there and I know that at the moment a lot of people are in a far more serious situation than me.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their help and advise. I do appreciate everything everyone has said (even though I may not agree with it all) and wanted to thank you all for taking time to impart your views.

    Cheers!

    Stu.
