Thanks for quick response. Yes tax man sent me a P45 'For completion by new employer' albeit he sent me it approx 1 month ago. I haven't filled in anything with my new employer. I have Not filled in a P46 with my new employer.
Would it be better if I filled in a P46?
I'm unfamiliar with the concept of the HMRC sending a blank P45 for your new employer to fill in... it makes no sense to me.
As I see it, as you haven't worked this tax year or been on JSA then you need to fill in a P46.......... maybe others know more about this.0 -
I don't understand why HMRC have sent a P45 either.
What parts of the P45 do you have and is it blank or are the boxes filled in?
If you've had no income so far this tax year you might as well just fill in a P46 stating that fact.I am an Accountant. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Accountant. All posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and should not be seen as professional advice.0
