Hello everybody
I will try an keep this short
Trying my hardest to get out of debt
Have just left the DWP in July....they messed up my final salary and as a result a loan I was repaying at £25 a month was cancelled and debt recovery action was commenced....they now want the full amount (6k)
I have tried to get the DWP to pay some of this as I feel it was due to their incompetence that I am in this situation.
They say no, not their fault even tho I have numerous letters admitting theier errors.
What do I do now??
Do I seek legal advice?

I appreciate that the DWP messed up and made an error but I don't understand how a lender would commence debt recovery proceedings for a missed repayment of £25! Unless there is more to this that you haven't mentioned?
For such a small amount couldn't you have borrowed it off someone until your salary was sorted?

It was an agreement I had with the lender, the amount was small on the premise that I would not miss ANY payments or the full amount would HAVE to be paid.
Expecting my salary payment to go in as normal I did not expect the letter demanding full payment to arrive.
They admitted they messed up the salary payment.0
