Sent offer to Barclaycard

Hi guys, me again

Thought I would send out a test pilot F+F today, using Barclaycard as my guinea pig

I have been paying them £5 a month for the past 15 months and owe them £290, I have sent a offer of £85 to pay them off now with help of a family member of course...

Do you think they will accept? I have told them its a limited offer with regards time with the offer being open for 7 days.

Hello snowball this is my first post. I have lurked around the forums for a long time but never had the courage to say anything. I too have just sent a letter offering bank of Scotland visa a full and final settlement of £150 i owe £260 and they offered me a full and final settlement of £190 as i don't have that amount I thought I would take the bull by the horns and go for it. I hope i did the correct thing. I have a few more debts to deal with :eek:and I'm doing DMP on my own it seems to be working so far. If they accept it will be one less fingers crossed and good luck with yours:beer:

Have no idea wether they will accept your offers or not I'm afraid but just wanted to say WELL DONE for giving it a go and I'm sure peeps will be keeping their fingers crossed for you, I know I will.

i am also sending a full and final letter to barclaycard who were in my DMP so will let you know what they say to me!

stick to your guns with your offers, I think they are reasonable and if they refuse keep offering the same, if they still refuse then inform them that you will continue to pay £5 a month then and they will soon accpet I am sure

Yep, as milliemonster says, keep offering. I was in a similar situation and I kept offering the same, they kept refusing so I carried on paying what I could afford. Then I got made redundant and wrote to them again offering the same amount and told them I didn't have another job so if they didn't accept I'd have to reduce my monthly payment to them until I find alternative employment and they immediately accepted my offer.

I appreciate my circumstances are probably different from yours, but just keep grinding them down and they may eventually accept. Takes a bit of time and patience.

the other option you could consider is wait until the debt gets passed to a DCA - they buy debts for peanuts and are easier to negotiate with.
