Hello,
Bit of an issue really with HMRC, thought you guys would have an idea....
My g/f recently had an account with barclays and due to an ongoing issue with her overdraft (that has been pulled despite us battling for it to stay, they said they would product match and they haven't, that sent a letter saying it was rejected due to the fact she is under 18???)
That aside, she set up her tax creds to go into this acct at Barclays, she moved them to her other account but the HMRC only moved the child element and not the working tax credit. So we are faced with losing nearly £300 (it was reduced until i provided last years earnings, which I did, and we were backpaid) to this account.
I have spoken to the HMRC and they cannot do anything as the payments have gone, could my g/f speak to Barclays and ask them to reject the payment, we do not want this money going to the overdraft whilst we are battling with them to sort out this issue, we do need the money for winter clothes for the baby!
Is there anything to prevent Barclays keeping the money as it's a benefit and not a standard payment?
Any advice would be welcomed..
