DMP Debt Management Plan - best organisation to go with?

Hello everyone,
I am very close to trying to arrange a DMP with my credit card companies.
There are many organisations out there (like MyVesta, etc) that say they can work on your behalf to arrange a DMP.
Does anyone have any good or bad stories to tell about their DMP people?
By the way, I realise that I could contact the card companies myself with example letters from the net, but I'm feeling really low at present, so the thought of asking an organisation to help seems like a good plan to me!
Many thanks,
Martin

I would reccomend CCCS or Payplan as these are free organisations that will work on your behalf.0

Forget any others apart from the two that debtman mentions.

Hi there we have just started a DMP with the cccs unlike alot of the other companies they are free and offer impartial advice anything you want to find out about they will tell you.
I have phoned in floods of tears after being verbally abused by a company and they told me exactly what to do and were very sympathetic.
hope that helps :j0 -
we are with payplan and they have been fantastic,:j
good luck0 -
Just thought I'd add my vote for the CCCS. They're FREE so all your DMP money goes to creditors, meaning your debt gets cleared quicker.
Having the CCCS' support has just been brilliant, particularly in the early days when I was at my lowest and not feeling confident about dealing with my creditors on my own. The first couple of months were the worst, facing all the calls and letters, so it was a relief just to refer them to the CCCS and my DMP.
CCCS and Payplan are the companies that come highly recommended on these boards. I also believe CAB can help.
Good luck! Just don't pay a company to do your DMP!Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.
Dealt with my debt through a Step Change (CCCS) DMP.

I am with cccs and they have been very supportive, honest and open with everything to do with my debt and options. Also very easy to talk to and listen to you, which is most important

Here you go (not sure if its already been posted)....

Fantastic!
Thank you all for your replies and helpful suggestions.
It looks as though CCCS are the ones to go for, with PayPlan being a close second should CCCS be overwhelmed in the current climate.
I shall get my self organised and give these people a call soon.
Thanks again,

Good luck with your next step Martin. I've not been on a DMP but have heard lots of good things about CCCS and Payplan. The last thing anyone in debt needs to be doing is paying out more for someone to pay their debt
Very best wishes
