Bad Credit

Hi Guys,

Well its my first post on here mainly becouse after 4 years of battling with debt problems i have finally gone down the route of a management plan. Me and my girlfriend have approx 40k of debt to credit cards, loans the usual. Its taken me 6 months of being on the plan to admit i had a problem as i was always too proud to do anything about it.

I have got my first CCJ hearing on the 1st Oct with the only creditor to give me any hassle MBNA they are very mad about the situation, becouse of this i am worried about getting car finance. My job pays me a wage and a car allowance, this is to be used to buy a car that needs to be changed every 4 years, as anybody got any advise regarding car finance with bad credit.

    Hi football :hello:

Welcome to the forum, may I ask, who is your DMP with? look at my signature.

As for car finance with bad credit, yes, various companies offer the credit facility, but be aware the APR will be much higher, if you go back to the days of "Yes Car Credit" that should give you an idea of which companies are out there.

Why not post your SOA (Statement of Affairs) let's just check your out goings are reasonable and see if any saving can be made, click here to complete your SOA.

EDIT: Have you obtained your CCA for this debt?
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
  • DMP is with Byrom & Keeley but not for much longer, they are charging £45 a month on a £250 payment plan, its strange really as i was put in contact with them by the Debt Wizard. I have talked to CCCS and i have an appointment on the 21st Oct so hopefully i will be able to throw all the money i have at the debts.

I was wondering about the major banks ie my bank, they have car loans that are secured against the car, i dont think my budget can stretch to the typical 29% APR.
