Advice on defaulted loan

Hi all,
I’m just looking for a bit of advice about a debt. I will try and make the details as clear as possible. Around 3.5 years ago I lost my job and had to default on a loan which had about £2900 outstanding on it. Around a year after that the bank offered me a settlement figure on the loan of £2100 which meant the interest had been wavered. Shortly after that when everyone was claiming back their bank charges I got offered £1900 in unfair charges by the bank. As I was trying to clear up my credit rating I asked them about the settlement figure. End up I sent them a cheque for the £200 to settle the debt. They did tell me this would improve my credit rating but the only difference it made was the debt now shows as partially satisfied on my credit report. What I need advice on is I now have some debt collecting mob constantly harassing me for the other £800. Threatening letters being sent to myself every week. I have just been ignoring them. Can they seek money that has been defaulted on? Can the bank offer a settlement figure to me then sell the remaining debt to agencies to chase?
Thanks for you help in advance.
