hfc admin charge

hi
i purchased a tv from currys last year and my interest free period is almost up, so i rang hfc bank (the bank that sort out currys finance) to pay off my balance and they told me that there was a £25 admin fee, there is no mention of this in the contract i have nor was i told about it at the time of signing the agreement, do i have to pay this fee.

Did they say what the fee was for?
Could it be that you are settling the account early and being charged a fee? Have a look at the T&C's you got from Currys and possibly phone them to find out about this.

I would pay all but £10 of the outstanding amount if time is running out and hopefully you can get this cleared up.

  • i've read through all of the t&c's there is no mention of admin fees. the admin fees are not from currys they are from HFC, when i spoke to HFC they just said there was a £25 admin fee to pay.
  • I paid of my tv I bought on credit from currys - didnt charge me anything.

Hi there, I hate to say it but it does state that HFC charge a £25 admin fee in the Credit Agreement, I work for Currys and tell all my customer about this fee and have even taken to writing it on their agreement so there is no come back. However if you are purchasing something new from Currys the manager, as part of good customer services (he/she would not call you a lier!) should offer to discount, some if not all of the fee on your new purchase. Best I can suggest.
