The Stables or Pier 36?

Options
Hi folks,

Anyone been to both? I've been to Pier 36 in Donaghadee several times and it's always been great but thinking about The Stables in Groomsport for a change. Which would be better for non-fish eaters - only interested in steaks, chciken etc?

Many thanks,

PK

For value for money and the best steaks around North Down try Papa Joes Hamilton Road Bangor 02891 461529. You must book as it is always busy and it is a very pleasant BYO wine beer etc

Friends went to The Stables about 4 months ago.
They were extremely upset with both the service and the quality of the food.
  • Ive only been in the Stables once since it was taken over a few years ago and wasnt very impressed. In Bangor I like Rioha (spelling) at the top of high street. Cafe Essence on Hamilton Road get goods reports too esp if you like fish.
  • Marine Court, Bangor. Never had a bad meal and good service. The Stables! Three visits, three disgraceful meals, and terrible service. Pier 36. Very good, very good and very friendly service. Owners usually on site, and staff excellent.

Was in Pier 36 last Tues nite (abt 9pm) for dinner. Was v nice although I did hear service can be a bit bad at times: ours wasnt.

My parenets use dto like The Stables but not anymore: they have started going to The Bryansburn which we recommended.

As before Papa Joes is also quite good.
