hi there,my current mortage with Halifax is coming to an end (fixed rated) and I am now on the look out for the best product. However, they all seem to have a £995 arrnagement fee and since my mortgage is £30,000 it seems quite high. Does anyone know of any good deals around? I'm looking to spread it over 13 years

Hi there. Why not try the First Direct offset re-mortgage deal. It's a tracker at +0.79% above Bank of England base rate. It's got no fees whatsoever and would allow you to overpay. I've applied for it and fingers crossed I'll get it! The only thing is that you need to get a First Direct account in order to get the mortgage - but you could get that prior to applying and also get the £100 bonus for switching!!0

Yeah theres no point paying a fee like that for a £30k mortgage.
Nationwide have a 2 year fixed with no fees at 6.08%.
For a longer deal, Coventry have 6.19% with no fees for 5 years, or Northern Rock 5.99% no fees 5 year fixed.0 -
Halifax have a 5 year fixed rate at 6.29% for £295 for existing customers. I felt it worked out the cheapest option for me with a mortgage of £40,000

Norther Rock 5.99% 5 years fixed no arrangement fees, no valuation fee and no legal fees. A winner:o
